927th LRS welcomes new commander

The 927th Logistics Readiness Squadron held a change of command ceremony on Sept. 8 at MacDill Air Force Base, FL.

Lt. Col. Ana Maria McMahon assumed command during a ceremony attended by members of the LRS as well as Lt. Col. Alan Tourney, 927th Mission Support Group deputy commander who presided over the event.

Tourney described some of McMahon's experience, leading her to this new role.

"Lt. Col. McMahon is ready and well prepared for the role she will now assume, said Tourney. "She has vast experience working all aspects of logistics programs, consistently being identified for her exceptional leadership and being described by her supervisors as being a trail blazer."

The 927th Logistics Readiness Squadron is responsible for deploying highly trained Warriors and serviceable equipment for worldwide mobility tasking's, contingencies and special operation missions in support of the 927th Air Refueling Wing. They also provide premier logistics planning, fuels, Material management and transportation capabilities while maintaining combat readiness proficiency.

After assuming command, McMahon addressed her family and members of the unit.

“I want to thank wing leadership for having the confidence in selecting me to command the 927 LRS,” said McMahon. “I will do my best to serve the wing with passion and excellence."

McMahon also wanted to thank Lt. Col. Meredith Seeley, the outgoing commander of the 927 LRS.

"A very special thank you to [Lt.] Col. Seeley, your love and dedication to this squadron is evident,' said McMahon. "It makes this transition for me easier an I hope to continue the legacy that you have set forth."

McMahon concluded her speech by addressing the members of the squadron.

"To the men and women of the 927 LRS, in the last few weeks, I have seen this squadron in action and I know how dedicated you all are to the mission," she added. " Please join me in collectively raising the bar and seeking more innovative ways to accomplish the mission!"
