Lieutenant Colonel Kristofer Terry took command of the 927th Maintenance Group during an assumption of command ceremony held on Saturday of the December Unit Training Assembly here.

Terry began his career in active duty back in 1995 where he served as the Assistant Professor of Aerospace studies at the University of Tennessee. He was soon transferred to Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, where he was a flight commander at the 56th Fighter Wing. Since then, Terry has served in multiple positions at the squadron, wing and numbered Air Force level also as a civilian working with Boeing aircrafts.

"Everything that Terry has done along the way has proved to me why he’s more than capable to lead this outstanding group of men and women," said Col. Frank Amodeo, 927 ARW commander. "I am excited that you’re here, and I know you’ll do an excellent job leading."

Lt. Col. Terry received a Bachelor of Technology degree from the University of South Alabama and was commissioned upon completion of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 1995.

Upon receiving the guidon from Amodeo, Terry said a few words about his new position.

“I am humbled to be a leader of this group, when I look at the things you all have accomplished in the last year I was blown away by the amount of hard work you put in,” said Terry. “You guys are the heart and soul of this group and I look forward to doing great things in the years to come.”

As 927th MXG commander, Lt. Col. Terry will now be responsible to oversee the 927th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and the 927th Maintenance Squadron.

The 927th ARW alongside their mission partner, the 6th Air Mobility Wing provides a dedicated and prepared total force team to fly, fight and win in air, space and cyberspace.
