Seymour Johnson AFB repositions aircraft in preparation for Hurricane Florence
The repositioning is a precautionary measure to avoid potential damage to resources as a result of Hurricane Florence. Dare County Bomb Range and the Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area have been prepared in anticipation of Florence.
Several Seymour Johnson AFB personnel are being mobilized to assist with the relocation.
Additionally, the base is providing any support needed for Airmen and their families to ensure they're prepared and safe in the eventuality that Florence affects this region.
“The safety of our Airmen and their families is our number one priority,” said Col. Donn Yates, 4th FW commander. “We continue to remain vigilant in preparation for Hurricane Florence and we are planning for all potential outcomes. I would like to take this time to thank everyone for their flexibility and taking care of our people, base and community.”
