Colonel KENNETH L. HUMPHREY

Colonel Kenneth L. Humphrey is the Commander of the 927th Operations Group, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. He is responsible to the 927th Air Refueling Wing Commander for enabling Air Force Reserve Command priority missions and accomplishing the assigned Air Mobility Command and United States Strategic Command’s missions of aerial refueling. Additionally, the group is responsible for aeromedical evacuation taskings in support of Combatant Commander’s global requirements and select allied nations.

 

Colonel Humphrey received a direct appointment commission in May 1994 prior to entering Undergraduate Pilot Training at Vance Air Force Base, Enid, Oklahoma and subsequently began his flying career at the 465th Air Refueling Squadron (ARS), Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. In 1996, Humphrey began a federal career at the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center assigned to the Special Air Mission Directorate until being hired as an Air Reserve Technician at the 465 ARS. In addition to DoD logistics and acquisition experience, he has been assigned to numerous operational command and staff leadership positions including Chief of Operational Plans, Chief Pilot, Director of Operations, and USAFE A3T EDI Team Chief. Col Humphrey is a veteran of Operations Joint Endeavor, Northern & Southern Watch, Allied Force, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, New Dawn and numerous other operations and contingencies in support of the nation’s security strategy. He is a command pilot and flight examiner with more than 4,800 flying hours.
