Colonel GINGER M. ORMOND

Colonel Ginger Ormond is the 927th Maintenance Group Commander. She is responsible for the organization, training, equipping, and worldwide readiness of a group of approximately 250 Citizen Airmen and Civilians. As part of the 927th Air Refueling Wing, the 927th MXG, through aircraft maintenance operations, supports contingencies and humanitarian operations around the world with in-flight air refueling, cargo airlift and passenger movement in the KC-135 Stratotanker.

Prior to her current assignment, Col. Ormond served as Deputy Director of Staff at Director of Staff, Headquarters, Air Force Reserve Command, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. She provided strategic guidance and support to AF Reserve Pentagon Offices, AF Reserve Command and Air Reserve Personnel Center integrating three staffs, 9 Directorates and 1300 personnel to maximize strategic efficiencies. Further, she oversaw a $90 million operations and maintenance budget, contract management valued at $117 million, campus health and space planning for over 400 thousand square feet. The Director of Staff office formulates Air Force Major Command (MAJCOM) partnerships through staff-to-staff interaction, HQ tasks, and active duty host wing support

Col. Ormond is a graduate of University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 158. While on active duty, she served as a maintenance and munitions officer in various capacities and locations. In 2006, she joined the Air Force Reserve and has served since as a traditional reservist and air reserve technician, including a period with the Air National Guard in 2009. Col. Ormond deployed twice in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, HAMKARI, MOSHTARAK and INHERENT RESOLVE. Col. Ormond is married to William Ormond, MSgt, retired.
