Colonel JOHN H. WEEKS

Col John H. Weeks is the Commander at 927th Mission Support Group, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. In this role, he is responsible for over 250 officers, enlisted, and civilian personnel assigned to the Security Forces Squadron, Force Support Squadron, Communications Element and Logistics Readiness Squadron. He provides oversight, management and resource advocacy in manpower, military and civilian personnel, training, facility and public works, security, logistics, and communications for the reserve Wing.

Col Weeks began his military career enlisting in the Navy in October 1991. He attended Basic Military Training at the Naval Training Center, San Diego, Calif. He then attended Naval Corpsman Accession Training at Balboa Hospital, San Diego graduating in April 1992. In December of 1993, he graduated Field Medical Service School at Camp Pendleton, Calif., and served for six years as a combat medic with the Marine Corps. After serving four years active and four years reserve in the Navy, he commissioned through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at The University of Southern Mississippi in May of 2002 as an active-duty Logistics Readiness Officer. Prior to his current position, Col Weeks was the IMA to the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Commander, Defense Supply Center Richmond, Va.

Col Weeks deployed twice with the Marine Corps in support of post-Gulf War operations in the Middle East and Somalia during his Navy service. Since then, he has served over 23 years in the Air Force and has deployed four times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Resolute Support.
