Community College of the Air Force graduates assigned to the 927th Air Refueling Wing walked across the stage and received their diplomas during a ceremony held on Aug. 6, 2017, at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.

In attendance were graduates, their commanders, supervisors, co-workers and family members.

"This is one milestone of many for these individuals and it certainly won’t be their last,” said Col. Michael J. Remualdo, 927 ARW commander. “It shows a lot of perseverance and desire for self-improvement and those are the kinds of people we need in the 927th and in the military, as well.”

Guest speaker for the ceremony was Dr. Kevin Moore, a professor of entrepreneurial studies at the University of Tampa, who congratulated the Airmen and gave some words of advice.

"It’s not about the piece of paper,” he encouraged. “It’s about the applied knowledge you gain and what you do with it,” said Moore.

The Community College of the Air Force is the largest, multi-campus community college in the world, with affiliated schools in 37 states and 9 foreign locations. Each year, CCAF students earn more than 1.6 million hours of college credits, and the college has awarded more than 335,000 degrees since 1977.
