MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, FL-- U.S. Air Force Major Beverly A. Hayes, assumed command of the 927th Force Support Squadron in an assumption of command ceremony here July 7, 2018.

Presiding over the ceremony was U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Alan Tornay, 927th Mission Support Group commander where he provided an insight for Airmen to how Hayes will impact the mission.

“I know that what we are getting in Major Hayes is a strong leader and someone who is dedicated to the mission,” said Tornay. “The 927 FSS was in need of a strong leader and I think that’s exactly what Major Hayes embodies.”

Hayes, who was previously assigned to Buckley Air Force Base where she served as the Chief for Developmental Education at Headquarters Air Force Reserve Personnel Center gave a few words about how she will embrace her new role.

“I look forward to working with you all,” Hayes said. “The journey is going to be fun and we are going to accomplish great things along the way. My first priority will be to ensure every single one of us is ready to accomplish the mission each and every day because our work is pivotal to mission success.”

In her new assignment, Hayes will be responsible for about 70 personnel who provide education, dining, physical fitness, hospitality, manpower, personnel, readiness, and family support to nearly 1,000 Reserve personnel assigned or detailed to the 927th Air Refueling Wing annually. The 927 FSS also augments the MacDill host’s support to over 10,000 total force personnel and 252,000 local retiree members.
