MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. (August 5, 2018) — The 927th Aerospace Medical Squadron held an assumption of command ceremony on August 5 at MacDill Air Force Base, FL.
Col. Jennifer R. Ratcliff, assumed command during a ceremony attended by members of the AMDS, including Col. Doug Stouffer, 927th Air Refueling Wing commander who presided over the event.
Stouffer opened the ceremony by honoring Ratcliff on her drive and dedication.
“We are excited to have Col. Ratcliff in the position as commander of the 927th AMDS,” said Stouffer. “Her leadership and drive for helping others will allow her to put her best interest in the unit as she takes on this role.”
The 927th AMDS provides public health, occupational medicine, mental health, preventive medicine, and fitness for duty services for the 927th ARW. As the 927th AMDS commander she is responsible for the medical readiness for the 927th Air Refueling Wing.
After assuming command, Ratcliff addressed her family and members of the unit.
“I am humbled and honored to be standing here, and I know I am rejoining a phenomenal team,” said Ratcliff. “There is nothing more important than accomplishing the mission, except for taking care of your people. Leadership is not a thing, it is a relationship. I am here to take care of you, this is the most important job I have.”
