MACDILL AIRFORCE BASE, FLA. – The 927th Air Refueling Wing’s command chief, says farewell to the Reserve Citizen Airmen of MacDill Air Force Base, Oct. 14, during his last Unit training Assembly with the wing.
Chief Master Sgt. Michael Klausutis has served as the command chief of the 927 ARW for approximately four years dedicated to the enlisted force assigned to the wing.
“We are sad to see Chief Klausutis leave,” said Staff Sgt. Katlyn Thomas, 927th Air Refueling Wing Occupational Safety Technician and Rising 6 president. “He has continued to not only support the Airmen of the 927 [ARW] but also encourage each of us to progress both personally and professionally.”
Following his assignment at MacDill AFB, Klausutis has accepted a position on the wing staff at the 919th Special Operations Wing, Duke Field, Fla.
“This is a family, at the end of every day we take care of each other with support, encouragement and by embracing one another”, said Klausutis. “My greatest joy is watching all the successes from every Airman in the wing”.
Honoring Klausutis’ and his service to the enlisted force, the Rising Six, which is comprised of approximately 600 enlisted Airmen assigned to the 927 ARW, has organized a kickball tournament where each unit will compete for bragging rights and a traveling trophy while bidding Klausutis farewell.
“Events like these are what keeps us going and maintains our morale through the hard work given every day”, said Klausutis. As I depart, some advice I would like to leave each Airman with is continue to take care of this family you are tomorrows Air Force leaders”.
