MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. (Jan 18, 2019): Kids Wish Network teamed with 927th Air Refueling Wing to deliver bikes to the unit for its upcoming Family Day event occurring in April of 2019 as part of their Project Toy Drop.

The toy drop is part of new relationship developed with the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program which aims to deliver happiness to kids of military parents in each stage of development.

“We are very happy that the Kids Wish Network decided to donate these bikes over to us,” said Master Sgt. Josue Santiago, 927 ARW Yellow Ribbon Representative. “At the recent Yellow Ribbon event this past weekend, I was able to build a relationship with some of the members of Kids Wish Network and learn about their mission and what their purpose is.”

Kids Wish Network is an organization that was established over 20 years ago with the intent of granting a wish for a local child suffering from a critical illness, has grown into a national organization that now serves thousands of children each year.

“Our military families are essential to keeping the military strong and we just wanted to show our appreciation for what they do,” said Thomas Ludington, Kids Wish Network Distribution manager. “This is just a small piece of our gratitude for all they do.”

For Family Day in April, members of the Wing will be able to receive one of the 24 bikes that are available in a raffle during the festivities.

“I’m very pleased that we were able to get the support we did for Family Day,” said Santiago. “The bikes will provide our military families an opportunity to spend more time together, which is exactly what we want.”
