PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Master Sgt. Floyd Gordon wants reservists to know about Air University’s ABC Program, which helps Airmen earn undergraduate degrees using existing Community College of the Air Force credits.
“Once you complete your CCAF, it’s simple,” said Gordon. “Just enroll in a university through the online portal and work on meeting the graduation requirements at your own pace. They have over 200 degrees to choose from between all of the different schools.”
Gordon went through the process himself, earning a bachelor’s in political science through a university affiliated with the program. He’s also the 920th Operations Support Squadron education and training manager, which is why he is such an advocate for this path.
“Education is an essential part of your growth as a person,” explained Gordon. “I recommend that Airmen pursue their degrees because they have an opportunity that is not afforded to everyone. It will take determination and drive, but it’s worth it.”
The Air Force Reserve offers tuition assistance to its members and Gordon said many of the schools also offer scholarships.
