If you are the son or daughter of an Air Force Reservist, take heed: the Air Force Reserve/Air National Guard Teen Leadership Summit opened its application process until April 15.  This year, the two locations for the week-long summit are Dahlonega, Ga., and Estes Park, Colo., ensuring teens from anywhere in the continental U.S. won't have to travel across the country to attend.

The summit is open to 14-18 year old dependent teens of current Air Force Reserve or Air National Guard military members.

The summits are jam-packed with classes and workshops designed to educate teens and provide them with life skills they can continue to use.  The mission of the AFR and ANG are covered, along with courses on community service projects, musical performances, and environmental education classes.

To be eligible to attend the 2013 AFR/ANG Teen Leadership Summit, teens must:

- Be a current AFR or ANG teen dependent 14-18 years old. Teens of retirees or extended family members are not eligible. Priority goes to those 15-18 years old.
- Be physically/mentally capable and willing to participate in all camp activities.
- Attest that all information is truthful and accurate. Parent/legal guardian must agree.
- Fill out the application form completely. Essays must be written by the teen...not the parent!
- Fill out all required forms (4-H Code of Conduct, Transportation Agreement, 4-H Medical Information, and Adventure Waivers) upon acceptance.
- Priority goes to first time Teen Summit Participants
