Dorneen Shipp assumed command of the 927th Maintenance Group at an Assumption of Command ceremony here Feb. 20. Shipp oversees the 927th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 927th Maintenance Operations Flight and the 927th Maintenance Squadron. The ceremony opened with the arrival of the official party, Col Kenneth D. Lewis Jr., the 927th Air Refueling Wing Commander, and Lt. Col. Shipp. Airman 1st Class Brianna M. McGuffie with the 927th Maintenance Group sang the National Anthem and the colors were posted by the 927th Color Guard Team. Col Lewis spoke of how grateful he is to have Shipp on board as his new Maintenance Group Commander. He is positive she will do an outstanding job, he said. Shipp assumed command with the passing of the flag and then spoke of her new assignment. She thanked Col. Lewis for the opportunity to lead the 927th Maintenance Group, and gave a one-word speech. WE. "We will work together as a team to be the best maintenance group in the Premier Associate Wing," said Shipp.
