The 927th Air Refueling Wing hosted a family day at the beach here, Sept. 9. Made possible by multiple community partners and Honorary Commanders and members of the 927th ARW, the event afforded members of Team 927th quality time to spend with their immediate and military family members.

“On family day, we take a knee from training to have some fun and say thank you to our family teammates, without whom we would be unable to do our jobs successfully and resiliently,” said Col. Kurt Matthews, 927th ARW commander.

Team 927th and their families enjoyed complimentary food and drinks, live country music by Jake Black, Rick Willard and Clint Byron, games, and giveaways set-up around the beach. Kids Wish Network also provided toys and fishing poles for all children in attendance.

The 927th Command Team wanted to ensure that the value of family day was not lost.

“While this family day event does take time away from our readiness and training schedules, it is just as important,” said Matthews. “Family day is part of meeting Lt. Gen. John Healy’s, commander of Air Force Reserve Command, TASKORD Resiliency Priority for our families. It is vitally important to our Wing and member’s resiliency.”

Thank you to all the donors who made the 927th ARW family day possible.
