927th Air Refueling Wing Airmen alongside 15 other military affiliated organizations attended the 2015 St. Petersburg Bowl to display football field size flag, December 26, 2015 at Tropicana Field.

More than 100 people surrounded the perimeter of the sacred emblem of the United States, its flag. Working together, these Airmen, Coast Guardsmen, Soldiers and Sailors next to their junior counter parts of the Civil Air Patrol, ROTC, Naval Sea Cadets and their families showed their patriotism as one team during the National Anthem as it was performed at the start of the game.

"It was great to see this all come together," said 2d Lt. Derek Saballos, 479th Operational Support Squadron and volunteer coordinator for the unfurling of the flag. "The best part about events like these is that we are able to meet and interact with members of other military organizations and connect with them."

As the 100-yard, two-thousand pound flag was opened, the 927 ARW honor guard presented the colors as a pregame tradition they have participated in for years.

After the flag ceremony four members of the United States Special Operations Command repelled from the rafters of Tropicana Field to the 50-yard line just in time for the coin toss.
