Borgman 927th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- One-thousand Airmen and other military members assigned to MacDill, AFB, will come together at the 68th Annual Tampa Air Force Ball, on Friday, October 2nd, at the Hilton in downtown Tampa, Fla. In celebration of the Air Force's 68th birthday, the Airlift/Tanker Association brings MacDill Air Force Base, Airmen and their spouses together, by sponsoring the Annual Ball. The Tampa Air Force ball invited former 6th Air Mobility Wing command chief, Chief Master Sgt. Victoria Gamble as the key note speaker, who will discuss the confidence our Airmen have that allows them to accomplish their mission. Accompanying her speech, Chief Gamble will show an inspirational video highlighting the confidence in MacDill Airmen. MacDill is comprised of active duty and reserve components. The 6th AMW is the host wing of the installation and represents the active duty members; the 927th ARW is an associate Air Force Reserve wing, which shares many missions as the installation host. In addition to these units, MacDill is also home to 37 tenant units, including the two combative commands the U.S. Special Operations Command and U.S. Central Command. To celebrate all the Airmen of MacDill AFB, there will be video celebrating all of the unsung heroes of MacDill from yesterday, today and tomorrow. The uniform required for military members will be Mess Dress, the Semi-Formal uniform will be authorized for enlisted members. The event will be free for all E1-E4 members and a guest.
