Air Force reservists and active duty members at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, effectively participated in the Nuclear Operational Readiness Inspection on 18-23 June.

The NORI is an inspection designed to evaluate Air Mobility Command and AMC-gained Units' readiness to support the United States Strategic Command mission. The primary objective of a NORI is to examine how aircraft and aircrews are generated in response to higher headquarters messages and taskings.

The inspection was overseen by members of the Inspector General from the AMC. Areas evaluated were aircraft generation and aircrew generation, combat crew communications, and command and control.

Inspections such as the NORI provide leadership with details of how to execute all mission requirements safely, and efficiently.

The 6th AMC and the 927th Air Refueling Wing participated in the exercise together to ensure mission success.

"The success we attained is not due to one individual person or squadron, it's a team effort," said Col. William Rolocut, 927th Operations Group commander. "The flawless execution of nuclear operational war plans led to zero deficiencies during generation. As an air refueling wing, we must be ready at a moment's notice to execute the mission."

At the conclusion, several 927 ARW members were acknowledged for their outstanding performance by the Inspector General.

"All part of the overall team but the outstanding performance, that the AMC and the Inspector General annotated, drives home the foundational capability that is resident in this team and that we are indeed ready to execute this mission," said Col. Randy Bright, 927th Air Refueling Wing commander .
