927th Junior Enlisted Council, turning Airmen into leaders Published Jan. 26, 2015 By Senior Airman Xavier Lockley 927th Air Refueling Wing/Public Affairs MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla -- The 927th Air Refueling Wing's Junior Enlisted Advisory Council is a premiere organization whose mission is to be the voice of the junior enlisted members throughout the Wing. "We want to ensure the junior enlisted not only understand their responsibilities, but their importance to the younger airmen, senior leadership, and the Air Force. Our goal is to make every junior enlisted member better within the 927th ARW and that starts with understanding our purpose," said Tech. Sgt. Danishon Felder, 927th ARW ground safety manager and JEAC president. Acting as a liaison between the enlisted and the senior leadership, the JEAC meets once a month to discuss concerns throughout the enlisted ranks. Along with these discussions members also discuss community outreach events and career development opportunities. "The JEAC is an amazing fellowship opportunity with members who share the same situations, have the similar career questions, and are looking for progression into the next level of their career," said Felder. "We have guest speakers who are representatives from the Top 3, they council on a wide range of topics from education, Enlisted Performance Reports, bullet writing, and award packages." Since being established in 2013, the JEAC has already made an impact within the Central Florida region. "One huge highlight to the year was our participation in the Wreaths Across America at the Florida National Cemetery, where we placed wreaths on over 2,500 graves of our fallen brothers and sisters," Felder said. "Another was our involvement with The Great American Teach-In where we traveled to 11 schools across the Pinellas School district and spoke to over 2000 students about the Air Force and its history." Both events were milestones for the organization, and have set the bar for 2015. Aspiring members from E-1 to E-6 that want more information or to join the JEAC can contact Tech. Sgt.
