Borgman 927th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Florida -- The 927th Air Refueling Wing, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida held a change of command ceremony on base July 13. Col. Randal L. Bright assumed command from Col. Doug Schwartz during the ceremony officiated by Brig. Gen. John Flournoy, commander, 4th Air Force, March Air Reserve Base, California. Bright, originally from Birmingham Alabama, served as the chief of the Plans Division at Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, Robins AFB, Ga, prior to arriving at MacDill AFB. "Col Bright is very mission focused and family focused," Flournoy said. "He brings a ton of experience with him and will do great things here at the 927 ARW." During the ceremony, Schwartz, now commander of the 434th ARW Grissom Air Reserve Base, Ind, expressed how humbled is to have served as the 927 ARW commander and sees Col Bright as the right man to lead the wing in the future. "I couldn't be more excited about the seasoned pro that is Col. Randal Bright," Schwartz said. "This guy knows his stuff and is exactly what the 927th needs to move to the next level." Col Bright is a command pilot with more than 4000 flight hours in a wide range of aircraft. Bright previously served as wing commander at the 911th Airlift Wing, Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, Coraopolis, Pa and the 512 AW, Dover AFB, Del. During his remarks, Col. Bright addressed the 6th Air Mobility Wing leadership in the audience. "I'm all about relationships, you're our mission partner. "There are things you can't do without us and there are certainly things that we cannot do without your support and I look forward to making this relationship as positive as it can be."
