927th Air Refueling Wing Spotlight Published April 6, 2014 By 927 ARW Public Affairs MacDill Air Force Base, Fla -- Name: Jenay and Jenel Yore Rank: E1, Airman Basic Squadron: 927 FSS- Services/DFAC Civilian occupation: Student Why did you want to join the AF Reserve? Jenay: I wanted to join for the education benefits and to make my father proud. Jenel: To help pay for college and both of my parents were in the Air Force. Where do you go to school and what are your career aspirations? Jenay: We both go to St Leo University. I'm studying psychology and I would like to pursue a PhD. Jenel: I'm working on a biomedical and health sciences degree then I would like to pursue a graduate degree in physical therapy. How will your experience with the 927th help you achieve your career goals? Jenay: The 927th has already helped me get closer to one of my goals which is to become a chef. They are also helping me get one step closer to a PhD. Jenel: It will help me maintain my physical fitness and give me experience in a lot of different areas. What was it like going through Basic Military Training with your sister? What was your training instructor's reaction? Jenay: I was so happy to be there with my sister because she was there to help and encourage me. The TI really didn't like the fact we were twins though. Jenel: It was difficult at times because he couldn't tell us apart . He would discipline me thinking it was my sister then he figured it was easier to separate us so he wouldn't get confused. What is the easiest way to tell you apart? Jenay: Our personalities are very different. You'll just have to hang around us for a while to see the differences. Jenel: I wear glasses but I'm looking into getting contacts soon. What is your favorite part about MacDill or the Tampa area? Jenay: My favorite thing is the people. MacDill is just like my new family, I already feel the love. Jenel: My favorite thing is the people that I work with, they have all be very welcoming and the transition has been very easy. . If you met someone interested in joining the Reserve what would you tell them? Jenay: If you want to join the Reserve it will help you in the long run. You can always transfer to active duty but the Reserve helps you establish your future, and not just with the military but also in your civilian life. Jenel: I would tell them it's the best thing they could do. The Reserve helps people see there are other ways to serve your country other than active duty. But there is always that option to go active if they find out the love it.
