927th ARW Junior Enlisted Council Convenes First Meeting

The first meeting of the 927th Air Refueling Wing Junior Enlisted Council convened here on July 14, 2013.

The group is an initiative of the 927th Air Refueling Wing Command Chief Master Sgt. Nina Watkins. Key members of the group volunteered and were appointed to comprise the officer roles of the council.

In attendance and representing the 927th Air Refueling Wing Staff, Staff Sgt. Danishon Felder; representing the 927th Aeromedical Staging Squadron was Tech. Sgt. Amanda Palmer, representing the 927th Aeromedicine Squadron was Staff Sgt. Adam Anderson and SrA Joy McGruder, representing the 45th Aeromedical Staging Squadron was Staff Sgt. Quirsy Saladin, and representing the 927th Mission Support Group was Tech. Sgt. Christine Correa.

The command chief chaired the first meeting, presenting ideas for the group to discuss. These ideas included advertising the new Junior Enlisted Council, organizational structure of the group, peer recognition, mentoring, and community involvement and charter development.

Wing Commander Col. Douglas Schwartz kicked off this first meeting as the key mentor for the group.
