MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, FL - Approximately 750 members from around the 927th Air Refueling wing were in attendance during an annual awards ceremony here, on March 6, 2016.

This marked the first time the 927th Air Refueling Wing hosted an annual awards ceremony, something Chief Master Sgt. Michael Klausutis, 927 ARW command chief, hopes to continue.

"This is outstanding," said Klausutis. "The Junior Enlisted Advisory Council did a phenomenal job coordinating and getting this all set up for our Airmen. This event is a great way to highlight our members from the wing and we're going to continue this."

The ceremony was created to recognize Air Force members who have excelled in their work around their shops and the wing.

"We've been working on setting this up for some time," said Staff Sgt. Christine Fannin, annual award ceremony coordinator. "We felt as though we didn't have a proper way of recognizing people who have performed exceptionally around the wing, and look forward to continuing this each quarter" said Fannin after Sunday's ceremony.

Winners of awards were presented with certificates and coined by Col. Randy Bright, 927 ARW commander, winners were then greeted by their co-workers, supervisors and families who were in attendance.

"I am honored to accept this award," said Senior Airman Michael Seeman, 927 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief. "It humbles me to know that people around the base appreciate the work that I put in. None of which would be possible without the support of the Airmen I work with and the beautiful family I go home to".
