Riding The Storm Out
MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – After a long flight in their C-5B Galaxy, Staff Sgt. Joe Mahoney, left, a hydraulic technician with the 439th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, and Tech. Sgt. Devon Dostefano, right, an electrician with the same squadron, perform post–flight checks on the wheels of the aircraft. The 439th Air Wing, located in Westover, Mass., evacuated 16 of the airplanes to MacDill in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy's landfall yesterday. The planes are some of the largest in the world and are collectively valued at over 3 billion dollars. (Official U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Shawn Rhodes)
