MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- When Senior Airman Andrea Lucy, right, graduated from basic military training, she had the full support of her mother, Cate Thorp, left. When Thorp discovered she was battling invasive cancer, the mother and daughter saw it as a challenge. The same spirit that inspires Lucy to serve as a reservist with the 927th Aerospace Medicine Squadron is used today to care for her mother so they can beat the disease together.
