MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – – With more than 50 years of living in the skies behind him, James Watland is a surprisingly grounded man. The former Army combat pilot and Air Force boom operator had the opportunity to tour the same type of aircraft he used to fly in, the KC-135 Stratotanker, during an orientation flight for employers and civic leaders hosted by the 927th Air Refueling Wing, a reserve unit at MacDill recently.
