MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – – James Watland saw a lot change around him over the last 87 years, but still sees a lot of things he remembers in the KC-135 Stratotanker. Watland served in the Air Force from 1952-1962 as an enlisted boom operator, being one of the first to work in aerial refueling. He was back aboard a plane he could have served on recently as part of an civic leader flight hosted by the 927th Air Refueling Wing, a reserve unit at MacDill. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt.
