63rd Troop Carrier Squadron
Louisville, Ky. -- Some stories are so strange they have to be true. Such is the case for the enlistment of George Kinnaird, who joined the Army Air Corps in 1939. Lying about his age nearly landed the would-be officer in jail. It took action on the part of a friend in congress to waive the age requirement and the fraudulent enlistment charge. Fortunately for Kinnaird, now 91 years old, it allowed him to begin a military career that would see him fight two wars and acheive the rank of colonel. (Official U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
