Hospital In The Sky
MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. -- Eleven members of the 63rd Aeromedical Evacuation Unit took to the skies recently in order to test how well they accomplish their mission. For them, their mission is literally life and death. It is their unit's responsibility to care for wounded troops between combat airfields and modern hospitals. As part of their training, they conducted cardiac-arrest scenarios, patient trauma assessments, and proper setup of an intravenous drip. (Official U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Shawn Rhodes)
