Danger In The Sky
Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii -- Twenty-four servicemembers and 10 civilians found themselves in a situation not many want to undergo - they were aboard a decades-old KC-135 Tanker when an in-flight emergency was declared 22,000 feet above the Pacific Ocean. The smoke and fumes that caused the emergency to be declared required the passengers to don oxygen masks for their safety. (Official U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Shawn Rhodes)
