MacDill recognizes ‘forgotten’ service members of years past
A heritage marker installed by the 6th Civil Engineer Squadron June 24, 2022, identifies the location of U.S. Strike Command, the first unified command established at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, in 1961 at the current 6th Force Support Squadron Headquarters Building 373. The heritage marker is one of twelve markers on MacDill AFB and South Tampa where base personnel can learn more about all eras of base history. (U.S. Air Force photo by Stephen Ove)
