An assumption of command ceremony was held for the 927th Force Support Squadron at the Sea Scapes Beach House here on July 13, 2019.

Durning the ceremony, the presiding officer, Col. Amy Boehle, commander of the 927th Mission Support Group introduced Lt. Col. Cheri A. Guikema as the wing’s FSS Commander.

Prior to this position, Guikema was the Deputy Director of General Officer Management within the Office Air Force Reserve, Washington D.C.  She will now be responsible for approximately 70 personnel who provide education, dining, physical fitness, hospitality, manpower, personnel, readiness, and family support to nearly 1,000 Reserve personnel assigned to the 927th Air Refueling Wing.

During her speech, Guikema described how since putting on a uniform, trust and integrity have been important to her.  She then thanked Col. Doug Stouffer, the wing commander of the 927th ARW and Boehle for trusting her with this opportunity.

“In my short time here I feel like I won the lottery.  For the next few years, I will honor the trust you have bestowed on me,” said Guikema.

Senior Master Sgt. Nicholas Kemp, the first sergeant for the 927th Force Support Squadron, Mission Support Group staff and Air Refueling Wing staff, said, “Guikema is a firm believer in transparency and visibility.  I look forward to the leadership and experience that she brings with her.”
