MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. --

An assumption of command ceremony was held for the 927th Maintenance Squadron at the Auditorium here on July 14, 2019.

Col. Erika A. Foster, the commander of the 927th Maintenance Group, presided over the ceremony and introduced Maj. John Glass as the wing’s new MXS commander.

Glass has over 33 years of military service in aircraft maintenance.  He will lead and provide oversight of more than 66 maintenance personnel assigned to the squadron.

During the ceremony, Foster said, “Glass’s application stood out to me.  He has a lot of influence in the Air Force and comes to us with a lot of experience.  I really feel like I hit the jackpot, finding someone with Active Duty, Air Force Reserve, and National Guard experience.”

Glass ended the ceremony by giving his thanks for this opportunity and expressed his excitement for this new role.

Glass said, “I’ve been here for four days and I’ve been blown away by the people and structure. This is hands down the best squadron in the Air Force.
