April Unit Training Assembly was ¬¬¬a busy and active weekend for all members of the 927th Air Refueling Wing, part of the weekend included retirement ceremonies assumptions of command and promotions.

Col. James Palmisano, commander, 45rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, was one of those lucky few this day as he pinned on the rank of colonel.

Palmisano has had an outstanding career since joining the military and attributes the success to his life and career to his wife, who he said he would not be the leader or man he is without her love, dedication and support.
He came to the 45 AES from the 94th AES at Dobbins Air Reserve Base, serving as the commander in June of 2015.

"I am here to serve the Airmen of the unit and wouldnt be here if not for the support of my wife," said Palmisano. "I am one lucky 0-6, I still get to deploy and work with my Airmen down-range, although it is still hard leacing my family at home, I get to be with my second family when deployed. That is something that most 0-6's dont get the opportunity to do!"
